This short study narrates the history of three bookstores of Istanbul owned by Turkish Jews two by Sephardis one by an Ashkenazi which have disappeared a long time ago One was involved in publishing and selling Turkish books one in selling German titles and the last one dealt with rare and antiquarian titles This book is a reminiscence of a by gone multicultural Istanbul where Turkish Jews Sephardi and Ashkenazi contributed to the cultural life of the city
