The substantive law rules relating to maritime law are regulated in Articles 931 to 1400 of the fifth book of the Turkish Commercial Code No 6102 TCC Maritime law is the area where the foreign element is most frequently present within the meaning of the Code on Private International Law and Procedural Law No 5718 In this respect this study aims to translate the aforementioned provisions of the TCC into English During the preparation of the study the corresponding sources of the TCC provisions have been reviewed and the terms used in the English texts of the corresponding international conventions or in the English translations of the relevant domestic laws have been taken into consideration The glossary presented at the conclusion of the book contains the terms that have been used in the study 6102 sayılı Türk Ticaret Kanununun TTK beşinci kitabının 931 ila 400 üncü maddelerinde deniz ticareti hukukuna ilişkin maddi hukuk kurallarına yer verilmiştir Deniz ticareti hukuku 5718 sayılı Milletlerarası Özel Hukuk ve Usul Hukuku Hakkında Kanun anlamında yabancılık unsurunun en sık görüldüğü alandır Bu gerekçeyle çalışmada TTK nın anılan hükümlerinin İngilizceye tercüme edilmesi amaçlanmıştır Çalışma hazırlanırken TTK hükümlerinin mehazı denetlenmiş ve mehaz milletlerarası sözleşmelerin İngilizce metinlerinde ya da mehaz kanunların İngilizce tercümelerinde yer verilen terimler göz önünde tutulmuştur Çalışmada kullanılan terimlere kitabın sonunda hazırlanan sözlükte yer verilmiştir ARKA KAPAKTAN
