Short Biography of the Author Assoc Prof Önder Kocatürk was born in Istanbul in 1976 He graduated from Boğaziçi University Department of History in 1998 with the first rank and honour degree He completed his master s degree in the same department by writing his Master Thesis titled Poverty and The Poor in Victorian Britain 1837 1901 He finished his Ph D program at the Istanbul University the Institute of Atatürk s Principles and the History of Reforms in 2010 by writing his Ph D Thesis in Turkish entitled Türk İngiliz İlişkilerinin Kopuş Sürecinde Son Aşama 1911 1914 The Last Phase in The Collapse of Turco British Relations 1911 1914 After working as a Research Assistant at the same institute between 2004 and 2013 he became an Assistant Professor in October 2013 On 22 October 2014 he received the title of Associate Professor of Modern History He is fluent in English and a good command of Ottoman Turkish
