Tralleis 1 Kemik Buluntular — Nurettin Öztürk

Abstract Both ancient written sources and archaeological finds provide evidence that the ancient city of Tralleis was established on the plains of the southern skirts of Mount Kestane Mesogis The excavations performed at the site of the ancient city of Tralleis have unearthed the Gymnasium the Northern and Western Workshops the Western Necropolis Underground Tunnel System and the Villa Sectors all of which are dated to the Roman era as well as the Episcopal Church which is dated to the Early Byzantine period In this study which is entitled as Tralleis I Bone Finds we will introduce Roman and Late Antique bone objects discovered in the excavations conducted in the Northern and Western Workshops of the Gymnasium and on the fill area at the Underground Tunnel System exit The production of bone objects and workshops of ancient Tralleis will be also evaluated Bone objects were unearthed during the excavations in the ancient city of Tralleis and these were examined according to their forms and functions Keywords Roman Empire late antiquity Tralleis bone object workshop Öz Antik yazılı kaynakların yanı sıra ve arkeolojik buluntulardan da edinilen bilgilere göre Tralleis Kestane Mesogis Dağı nın güney eteklerindeki düzlüklerde kurulmuştur Tralleis antik kenti kazı çalışmalarında Roma İmparatorluğu dönemine tarihlenen Gymnasium Kuzey ve Batı Dükkanlar Batı Nekropolis Yeraltı Tünel Sistemi Villa Sektörleri ve Piskoposluk Kilisesi olarak tanımlanmış Bizans Dönemine ait dini işlevde bir yapı ortaya çıkarılmıştır Tralleis I Kemik Buluntular başlıklı çalışmamızda Gymnasium un Kuzey ve Batı Dükkanları nda ve Yeraltı Tünel Sistemi çıkışındaki toprak dolgu alanda yapılan kazı çalışmaları sonucunda ortaya çıkarılmış Roma Geç Antik Çağ dönemlerine ait kemik objeler tanıtılarak Tralleis antik kentindeki kemik üretimi ve üretim atölyeleri hakkında değerlendirme yapılmıştır Tralleis deki kazı çalışmaları sonucunda ortaya çıkmış kemik objeler form ve işlevleri hakkında yapılan detaylı araştırmalar ışığında sunulmaktadır Anahtar Kelimeler Roma İmparatorluğu Geç Antik Tralleis kemik obje işlik
